Bedroom Plan Update

I have a confession to make. I didn't get to start my meal planning menu as I had wanted to last night. I didn't realize Billy the floor guy was planning on sanding and coating my kitchen, breakfast nook, and front hall yesterday...so I was pretty much trapped in the basement for the afternoon. The kitchen is kinda the "through-way" of our house, meaning you need to go through there to get to the garage, basement, living room, um...everywhere. Kinda annoying. Did I mention I will be so glad when Billy the floor guy is no longer making a daily appearance at my house? Because it seriously cannot be soon enough. Hopefully I will be back to my scheduled menu plan tonight!

So what did I do all day while I was trapped in the basement? Read blogs and online shopped. Oh, and I saw Inception. I know I'm a little late to jump on this train, but my goodness how great was that movie!?

Thanks to some wedding gift cards that we had strategically saved, I was able to go on a little mini online shopping spree last night, for house things of course. And now, I can feel the master bedroom plan coming together.

Our final choice for a bed. This was a more cost effective option and will be much more proportional for our room than the other beds I had shared last week.
Valencia II Sleigh Bed
Our bedding. We already have the duvet, which was given as a shower gift, but  I ordered the shams and another decorative pillow.
Matine Toile Bedding
We have a dresser from an antique shop which I love and are in search of another one for hubby. Luckily our room has some built in drawers that he is currently using. We will also be on the hunt for some bedside tables. As soon as the bed gets delivered I will for sure have {real} pictures!

Another piece I'm lusting after is a vanity. I never thought I would want a vanity, but I've always had a bathroom with some counter space! Now that hubby and I share a smaller bathroom {we were lucky enough to have our own bathrooms in our old apartment!} with a pedestal sink and no counter, it's hard to put on make up and use a curling iron or straightener, little things like that. Check out some inspiration photos I have saved.

My favorites are the mirrored glass vanities, but I've had a hard time finding any that are affordable. I did come across this beauty, which has serious possibilities. Plus,  it's on sale!

Possibly my favorite part? The little stool! It looks very similar to the second inspiration photo, and you can customize the upholstery for it. These are some of my favorite patterns:

Thanks for all of your supportive comments on my house plans so far! It really means more to me than you know. I can't wait until things physically start coming together! Soon enough, friends!

I love hearing about all your plans as you progress!! These little vanities are all sooo beautiful. I have a plain little wooden one we got on sale at a PB outlet. Then I got one of those little lighted mirrors from Bed Bath & Beyond, because I prefer to be able to pull the mirror up close to my face when I put my makeup. My little setup definitely isn't as beautiful as any of these though!!! ;)

I LOVE vanities! I think even if I have bathroom space in our future un purchased home, i would still want a vanity..it feels so feminine to me...and i like to be able to sit when I put on makeup...it is so much more relaxing that way.

I LOVE your bedding..

and those stools! ah!

I will be stealing some of these photos to put into my iphoto album that has all of my future home inspiration in it.

xx

OH BILLY! ;) My Billy is getting on my nerves too- I'm like, hurry up and get the job done! Oh and my Billy has a friend... Earl. I know, awesome, right?!

The mirrored vanity is a MUST. Gorgeous! I think I saw one that was reasonably priced over at Pier 1, but don't quote me on that....

Your love-hate relationship with Billy brought me a smile, just in your explanation...not in your frustration of course ;) Crossing fingers he comes on a more regular basis so life can get back to normal!

Love love love the bed choice, especially the shams! Wooeee!! And a vanity...I wish we had room for a vanity! In college, we managed to create our own with a fabulous mirror and a cute desk. Love those stools. Love it all really!

Hope you're having a good week, my dearest! xoxo {av}

Eek! That does sound annoying.
But at least you got to see Inception, I just saw it on Sunday and I LOVED it.
I am so excited to see what you do, you seem to be great at decorating. :)

Totally stinks that you were trapped in the basement all day, but at least you got to blog and shop! Sounds perfect!! : )

I love the bedding. So adorable. I wish I had a vanity, too. We have a nice size bathroom, but a vanity is just so girly and cute! I love those little stools and their covers!
