baby details.

THANK YOU all so much for your well wishes and congratulations,
it means the world to me, and to us!
My eyes were tearing up reading through all of the comments.
The blogging world is pretty amazing. I mean, where else can you have so many people you've never even met share in your happiness and excitement?
I love it and I'm so glad to finally share the news with you!
Hopefully this explains my sporadic blogging over the last few months...growing a baby is hard work!

We are pretty much over the moon excited about this little blessing, whom we've lovingly coined "the gummi bear." Because really, does that ultrasound photo not look like the cutest little gummi bear? I may be a little biased, but we are already in love.

So to take you back over the last few months...

We knew we wanted to start trying to have babies pretty soon after getting married, and we figured we would give ourselves about a year of wedded bliss. I had gone off the pill back in September and we were in the "if it happens, it happens" frame of mind. Well, after we bought the house in December,  things seemed to be falling into place. In March we started "trying" a little harder. On May 1st, after being about a week late, I took a pregnancy test and it was positive...just like that. I never thought it would happen so fast, but I feel truly blessed.

Some details
  • The babe is due January 4th, which, as of yesterday, puts us at the 12 week mark.
  • No real bump yet! Unless you count the two above my belly, which are a welcome addition! I kinda look like I just had a couple too many beers. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before that changes.
  • If the husband has anything to do with it {which he really doesn't!} the baby coming a week early would not be a terrible thing...you know, for tax purposes. He's always thinking.
  • We are rounding toward home plate of the first trimester and I have been spared of morning sickness and nausea in general, with the exception of a few twinges here and there. Overall, I've been feeling pretty good. Thank you God.
  • I thought, being a night shift nurse and all, I knew about fatigue. Nope, NOW I know about fatigue...and I'm sure once the babe is here, I'll become even more familiar with it! Naps are a fave these days.
  • Ice cream, watermelon & strawberries...can't get enough.
  • I promise this will not become an all out baby blog. I still plan on posting about our house, pups,  recipes, and life in general. But I do plan on posting weekly bump-dates...sans fruit references. You're welcome.
  • I have so much to catch up on! I'm ready for that second trimester energy burst to kick in!

I can't tell you how happy I am for you! And I think you can tell that it's a baby bump, even if it's really little :)

Are you going to find out the sex, or let it be a surprise?

Congratulations again my dear!

xoxo,
Joelle

Congrats!

Growing a baby is hard work. My husband got tired of me using that as an excuse.

He would come home tired from work and then I would say, "Hey, I grew a LEG TODAY!"

It always made him stop and think.

Cheers to you and enjoy this ride!

So cute! I'm sure you are equal parts glad your belly is nonexsistant, and wishing it would grow quicker! I know I would be!

Are you going to find out the sex??

So glad you're feeling well! If you're able to keep from turning your blog into a baby blog, please tell me how to do it! I've failed miserably. The baby has taken over my brain. :) Can't wait to hear more about your gummi bear.

I wasn't sick either! I call us the lucky ones! If you are anything like me...the energy surge is a crock...still tired as ever.

On our first sonogram I was like "now I understand why everyone calls it a peanut" It looks exactly like one...can definitely see the gummi bear too!

OMG I just this post! So, so happy for you :-) Glad to hear you are being spared a lot of the morning sickness and stuff. I hear in the second trimester the fatigue gets better too. I know you said you aren't turning it into a baby blog but I would love to hear updates!
