I kinda feel like a broken record,
but seriously,
where does the time go?
Every day seems to go by in the blink of an eye.
It feels like just yesterday we came home from the hospital with this teeny newborn baby
and as of Friday, she's already a month old!
She is growing so fast.
It makes me so happy and yet kinda sad at the same time.
Happy to see her healthy,
and sad because I know she is not going to be this snuggly little newborn for long.
I want to stop time and fast forward all at once!
Dear Emma,
When you were born, you weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
Today at your one month check up, you weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces!
You were a tiny 18 inches at birth and now, you're 20 1/2 inches long.
You are in the 50th percentile for both height and weight.
You are quite the eater. For most of the first month, you were nursing every 2 hours or so.
In the last week or two you've gone some three and almost 4 hour stretches at night.
This makes mama so happy!
We've started a night time routine this week...bath, bottle, and bed
and that is when you seem to sleep in your longest stretches.
You're still wearing newborn sized diapers, and we've almost used up our stash.
We will probably move on to size 1 soon.
You are finally starting to fit into your 0-3 month clothes, and this also makes mama happy.
I never thought to buy much in the way of newborn sized clothes
but that is what you've been wearing for the past month, the same few outfits.
You make the best faces and are so expressive.
You never fail to let us know when there is something you need,
but seriously,
where does the time go?

You open your mouth like there is so much you want to say!
I love that you know my voice, and your daddy's
and that you look at us and can focus.
You've given us some early smiles and it's just the best thing in the world.
Your little gummy grin brightens up my day.
You love bath time and it's one of my favorite parts of the day, too.
I can only hope that means you'll be a water baby.
I can't wait to show you the ocean!
I love your chubby cheeks and your eyelashes that go on for days.
You are a beautiful baby girl and have brought so much joy to our lives.
I can't wait to watch you continue to grow and learn
and show you the best of the world.
We love you so much.
Love, Mama

First time commenter, here! Your daughter is absolutely precious!! She seems to have a great personality, too!
Such a pretty little lady! And, yes, enjoy your snuggly newborn before she becomes a squirmy worm like our little guy! So much to look forward to, though.
