House Hunters

I want a house so bad! J and I are on the hunt again. Our first go at this was about 2 1/2 years ago before we made the move to Little Rhodey. At first I loved the whole ordeal and it was like a little hobby, but after about a month or two, it just became stressful. We really wanted to settle into a home before we moved up here, but when you combine over-priced New England houses with a med student's debt and one little nurse's salary, it just wasn't in the cards.

Flash forward to today. I am SO glad we waited! Little did we know 2 1/2 years ago that the economy would pretty much tank. Actually, J knew it and he was right. House prices have dropped considerably (although they seem to still have a ways to go up here, if you ask me!) and interest rates are low...it is just a much better time to buy, for us. Our lives and jobs are a little more stable and we can finally combine two incomes to afford a little more house.

Although I love our little two bedroom apartment with all its character and charm, I don't like the area we're in and we are really bursting at the seams. All those lovely kitchen gadgets and wedding gifts need to come out of the closets and Lilly needs a backyard. We need more space and we need to make some roots! So tonight we begin the search: chapter 2. I know now that we have to be patient, but I am hoping and praying for success!
