weekend recap

Well, I should still be sleeping right now. But instead, some beautiful new carpet is being installed in the hallways of our apartment. The lovely carpenters are blasting the radio and hammering away. Fantastic for a night shift worker! After a whirlwind busy week, a couple early mornings at the airport, a weekend spent with some of my most favorite people, and right back to work last night, the sleep deprivation is really starting to kick in...full force. I'm beginning to think I'm more and more prepared for this whole motherhood adventure every day.

I had an awesome weekend in Pittsburgh! It was so great to see my friends, catch up, and re-live those college days! We all got into the 'burgh on Saturday early afternoon and headed to our old stomping grounds, Oakland, which is home to the Pitt campus.

These are about the only photos I have from our weekend. After browsing the shops and picking up some new Pitt gear, we had lunch and checked into our hotel. This was when I discovered my airport water bottle, which was about 3/4 full, had leaked all over my purse. My camera has not turned on since. Thank goodness for the camera phone!

We got settled in and ready for a night out on the town, then headed to Nakama, a fabulous sushi restaurant in the South Side of Pittsburgh. We were celebrating this lady's birthday.
martinis and sparklers? yes please.
Next up was a some bar hopping around the South Side which included a fun new piano bar and getting the birthday girl on stage. Sunday morning I was reminded that I am no longer 21 years old. We got up and donned our Steelers gear and headed to a bar near the stadium to watch some football. Unfortunately the game ended in loss, but we enjoyed ourselves none the less.
love.

It was a great time with great friends. Aren't girl's weekends the best?
