long weekend love

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, friends and lots and lots of food!

We spent Thanksgiving with my in-laws. Although I didn't get to spend too much time on the couch playing games after dinner, I did get to enjoy the delicious meal and a little family time. It's not very often over the last 5 years that my husband and I get to spend the holiday together, so it was nice to enjoy it while it lasted.

I had to go into work at 3pm for evening shift and had my second meal of the day with my work family. We prepared a crock pot turkey breast and all the fixins'. My pumpkin pies turned out pretty well and I also made this recipe that I highly recommend. Everyone loved it.  It involves cranberries, apples, pecans, marshmallows, and vanilla yogurt. I'm making another batch today because it was that good!

Friday we actually braved the MALL. We didn't do anything crazy like wait in line at 4 am or even get up super early. There was nothing in particular we were looking to buy. We got there around 10:30, and it wasn't nearly as crowded as I thought it would be. We found a parking spot immediately, which is usually the hardest part. My big purchase? A MAC red lipstick. I've been looking for a red lipstick for a while but wasn't sure which shade would be right for me. Enter the MAC lady. She hooked me up.

Friday night we went to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. We met J's best friend and his lady for dinner and the show. It was pretty amazing! Those ladies can DANCE!

These photos are from my phone, so they aren't the best quality. Plus I had to be sneaky because photography was not allowed. But I had to get a couple...for the blog :)

It really was the perfect thing to put us in the holiday spirit. I mean, ladies dancing in Santa suits and singing Christmas songs? And some appearances from Santa himself...what more could you need?

A side note: J's best friend made a very special black Friday purchase for his lady. A RING! We are so excited for them and can't wait for the proposal.

Saturday we had some friends over for cocktails. I can't believe I don't have any photos, but I guess I was too busy entertaining and enjoying those cocktails myself to get out the camera. Sunday was low key. Really low key. This may be kind of embarrassing to admit, but throughout the day, we watched three movies.

I actually watched Elf twice this weekend. It's my favorite! We did manage to get about all of our Christmas shopping done though. In our sweats, on the couch. Can't beat that!  Just a few handmade things to finish up and some more purchases to make for the hubby! What a great feeling!

Eat Pray Love is a great movie! Julia Roberts is perfect! And that recipe at the top looks absolutely delicious! I just might have to make it. :)

What did you think about Eat, Pray, Love?

I read and loved the book, but was honestly a little disappointed with the movie :(
