our love story.

In honor on Valentine's Day, I'm linking up with From Mrs. to Mama to share the story of us!
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
We have been together since August 2005. Six and a half years.
one of our very first pictures together. hello blonde hair!
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
J and I met through a mutual friend, and one of my old roommates. He was home in RI after finishing up his first year of med school at Penn State. I had just graduated nursing school at Pitt, and moved back home to good ole Hershey, Pennsylvania to begin working. One summer night in Rhode Island, J was out at a bar and ran into this mutual friend of ours. They began talking and catching up and he mentioned he was about to head back to Hershey for his second year of med school. Our friend casually mentions that one of her old roommates {me}  just moved back to Hershey to be a nurse. Somehow he convinced this friend to give him my phone number. Late that night I received a funny message...he had pretended to be the "dean of student affairs for Penn State" and there was "an urgent matter regarding the job I was about to start" and I needed to call back.
Even though it was a crazy message, and an odd phone number, I called back. He happened to be at a baseball game with his dad at the time, but explained the situation and who he was. I thought it was all a little strange, but something told me to give him a chance. We ended up talking a bunch of times and finally met when he came back to Hershey. We've been together ever since.
one of my favorites from back in the day.
3. If married, how long have you been married?
We were married a year and a half ago on June 19, 2010.

4. If you are married, where did you get married? Big or small wedding?
We were married in Portsmouth, Rhode Island at the Glen Manor House in front of about 120 of our closest friends and family. It was one of the greatest days of my life.
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another?
Of course. His favorite nicknames for me: K, K.Diddy, Diddy Bops, Babe
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
He has a huge heart and really, he would do anything for me and his family.
He makes me laugh every.day.
He is smart & driven. If he sets his mind to something, whether it be work related or otherwise, it's done and it's done well.
7. Tell us how he proposed?
Jonathan proposed on May 17, 2008 in front of both of our families. It was the eve of his graduation from medical school, and actually the first time our families were meeting. We planned a nice dinner at the Hotel Hershey...little did I know the extra planning he had done!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Neither, really. I love flowers, definitely, but they aren't only reserved for special occasions.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Definitely more of a movie & couch kinda girl, we are both home bodies.
Although I do love a good sunset dinner on the beach!

from our honeymoon in Anguilla. can we go back?
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I'd love to travel more, especially to Europe. And raise our little family together...already in progress!

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
The actual day will be laid back, as most are lately. Homemade dinner and dessert. Grandma is coming to visit the weekend after V-day, so we will most likely have a date night then ;)
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Nah, we're not big on Valentine's gifts. Probably just cards.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Give and take, communicate and compromise.

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.
