Life in Instagram, week 4

I'm playing catch up again.
These photos are from two weeks ago.

  • February Photo Challenge Day 6: Dinner. Random leftovers.
  • Bath time makes the babe so sleepy!
    • Pretty girl is 6 weeks old!
    • Day 7: Button
  • A smiley babe in the morning
  • Day 8: Sun. The view from our side patio

  • So exciting that some 3 month clothes are fitting the Little Miss. It's so much fun to get her dressed in the morning :)
  • Day 9: Front door. Welcome to our home!
  • This is my "mom office." A nice little set up in the living room complete with the laptop, camera, baby monitor, coffee, breakfast, and the baby of course.
  • E loving her play mat, and me loving the smiles!

  • Day 10: Self Portrait. Out shopping on a beautiful day.
  • A treat for mom.
  • I love birch box mail days!
  • At the salon for a very much overdue trim. It had been many months!

  • Saturday snoozes are the best. And those eyelashes? And lips? Make me melt.
  • Can't.get.enough

  • Day 11: Makes you happy. Weekends with the hubs and my babe are me at my happiest.
  • I can't help but take pictures.
  • Day 12: Inside your closet. One drawback of my older home is the small closets, but we make it work.
  • Flirting with daddy!

Life in Instagram, week 3

Another dose of Instagram goodness.
The weeks just keep getting better around here.

  • We love getting packages! This one was for Emma from her Auntie Meg in Pennsylvania.
  • Girl has got a serious headband collection going on :) Plus some books and hats and jammies. What a lucky little one. My sister is the creative brain behind the headbands.
    She needs an Etsy shop.
  • These 50 degree winter days are just spoiling us! On a walk in the Ergo.
  • My girl modeling one of her new headbands and taking it all in. Love her.
  • Post bath crazy hair!
  • Our sunset views are so pretty in the winter. Also notice the parade of wild turkey making their way through the neighborhood.
  • February photo a day challenge. Doing this.
  • Pretty stationary from Rifle Paper Company.
  • Emma and I spent the day with my sister in law and nephew. We stumbled upon a gift shop that was half candy store. Not good for my sweet tooth.
  • Photo challenge Day 1: My view. This is my view every day and I can't get enough.
  • Mocha partaking in some tummy time.
  • Evening snuggles with daddy. Both sound asleep.
  • Peaceful slumber.
  • Day 2: Words. Love this quote and I think it's quite obvious!
  • Friday night laundry. My how times have changed. Wouldn't want it any other way.
  • Day 3: Hands. Mama & baby.
  • Day 4: A stranger. My cashier at Michaels.
  • Day 5: 10am. This is pretty much our weekend morning routine. Everyone piled on the bed for breakfast :)
  • I've reunited with Jillian Michaels. After 2 days one thing is certain: must purchase new sports bras...it's a whole new world up there!
  • Pretty little lady all dressed up for Grandma's birthday. Baby tights with built in pink flats? Be still my heart.

Life in Instagram, week 2

A little look back at the past week in the M house.
It was a big one.
Baby E is one whole month old and mom & dad had their first date!

Some highlights, via Instagram.
  • Packages are pretty much the highlight of the day around here! Baby girl got her first jeans and some etsy headbands.
  • Homemade pizza!
  • Testing out the activity mat. She loves the lights!
  • Is there anything cuter than itty bitty baby shoes? And do these come in my size?

  • So in love with this little one.
  • Some early smiles. I know I'm her mama, but is she not the cutest thing you've ever seen?
  • First time in the moby wrap. Some things, Most things are much easier with two hands.
  • An outtake from her one month photo shoot. More on that tomorrow.
  • We went to daddy's office for lunch! Everyone was loving on the babe.
  • Emma's favorite spot to nap.
  • The weekends have a new meaning to me now. We both love morning snuggle time with daddy.
  • The fur babes are not forgotten!
  • Some weekend projects...new bathrobe hooks
  • and sconce lamps for the bedroom.
  • Saturday night out with the hubs. Grandma & grandpa babysat and E slept the whole time.
  • Ended the night right with some Pinkberry.
  • She does NOT like to have her arms swaddled. I've tried and tried!
  • Mom & me & dad. This was the first outfit I bought when I was pregnant...it was one of J's Father's Day gifts.
Hope your week is off to a great start!

Life in Instagram, week 1

Hello friends!
Let me start by saying
thanks to all of you who still read my little blog.
I'm trying to get back into it more regularly
and I have a new found respect for all the mommy bloggers out there.
How do you find the time?
I currently have 8 pounds of sweetness with a full belly & a dry diaper
resting on my lap and I'm finding a few minutes to put something together.

This weekend, I finally got on board with the rest of the world and upgraded to an IPhone.
And? I'm already obsessed.
I have to admit, the Instagram app was one main reason I wanted the IPhone so badly.
I love taking photos,
but having my DSLR strapped to my shoulder is no longer practical.
And now, more than ever, I need something convenient to capture the every day.

Here is a little glimpse into our laid back weekend.
  •  My snuggly little girl. Birdie hat + bunny lovie...melts my heart.
  • SNOW! The view from our living room. Our first really good snow of the year and it's almost February. Can't beat the still beauty of a fresh coat of the white stuff.
  • Seriously, the cheeks. They are getting chubbier and I just want to eat.her.up.
  • Saturday night take out dinner date complete with scratch off lotto tickets..and my first sushi roll in about 10 months! Delish.
  • Tummy time wore her out.
  • My Sunday morning view, a party on our bed.
  • Shopping with mommy & daddy. She is already a good little shopper :)
  • My new iphone obviously needed a pretty cover.
  • He loves his little girl.
  • Smiles mid nap. I could {and do} stare at her all.day.long.

Gender Reveal Party

We had both of our families over for a little dessert party last week
to reveal whether our baby to be is a boy or a girl.

I had so much fun decorating and putting this together.
Most of the decor is from etsy, or DIY by yours truly.
Let me know if you're interested in the sellers, I would recommend them all!

The spread...Mocha wanted to be included :)

Everything was pink & blue.

The desserts!

The guests.
As you can see, pink was in the majority.

My sister in law took this little video of the actual reveal.
It's pretty loud, and a little chaotic,
but it makes me smile each time I watch it.
The screaming "it's a girl!" is to my dad, on the phone because he couldn't be there.
My nephew makes a little cameo appearance
As does our name choice for the baby girl.

Since the big reveal, we've been shopping {just a little!}
Baby girl's closet is off to a good start...
and planning for the nursery.
Lots more to come on that!
Happy Monday!

summer rewind.

Once upon a time, the month of June flew right by me. Lots of fun was had
And little time was left for blogging.
I figure what better way to celebrate the month of August than with a look back
at the beginning of summer?

***

The husband finished up his residency program
and we hosted an after party at our house.
resident graduates!

Residents, attendings, family and friends
enjoying food & cocktails inside and outside.
Beer pong in the garage.
Guests at the house until 3am.
It was a good party.

Buds.

My family came up for a visit
and we had a BBQ, with both of our families
where we made the big announcement.
Baby-to-bee!
We framed our ultrasound photo and gave it to our dads as an early Father's Day gift :)
I swear Mocha has gotten so much bigger since this photo. She is growing like a weed.

Then, we celebrated a year of marriage
with a romantic dinner at The Castle Hill
