Fancy Friday: Laid Back Weekend

Happy Friday friends!

I'm linking up with the lovely {av} for Friday's Fancies again this week.

It's another Friday night where I have to work,

but I'm hoping the rest of the weekend will be low key.

I plan on spending some qt with the hubs

and have some family time planned for Sunday.
Easter crafts with the nieces and a spaghetti & meatball dinner. yum!

I kinda love this outfit.
Navy blue is one of my favorites and I love it paired with yellow.
I've been contemplating the white jeans for a while now,

and I think since "Spring" has arrived, I'm going to treat myself.
My question is...bootcut? flare? skinny?
Which to choose? Help a girl out!

Fancy Friday: Red Carpet Style

In honor of the Toast to the Oscars Blog Crawl, I wanted to link up with {av} and celebrate my red carpet fashion for Friday's Fancies. I decided on a classic black Valentino gown, jazzed up with some sapphires & diamonds, dramatic eyes and simple hair. What do you think?

Fancy Friday: Date Night

I had so much fun putting together my Fancy Friday outfit last week, so I've been looking forward to linking up with {av} again this week! And my obsession with polyvore continues on.

So here it is, my second installment. I'm pretty sure this is what the much cooler version of myself would wear out for a fancy Valentine's Day date. Truth be told, I'll most likely never own a pair of Louboutins...a girl can dream, right? And in actuality, I'll be sporting a really hot pair of light blue scrubs tonight, with my stethoscope being the accessory of choice :)

But seriously, I would LOVE to own, or even just wear that dress. I think the feminine lace details are just gorgeous. Sexy, but not overdone. Love that.

And how fun are those little hearts? Pretty and sparkly for a little Valentine flair. I'm not sure I could pull off that headband, but those loose curls and the red lips are perfect match for this outfit, I think. MAC's Ruby Woo is my red of choice. Pair everything with some sparkly diamond studs, gold stacking bangles and a hot pink clutch and you're ready to wow your Valentine!

Fancy Friday: Go Red

Did you know heart disease is the number one killer in women?

Go Red is a campaign by the American Heart Association designed to spread the word about heart disease and prevention. It is challenging you to know your risk for heart disease and the steps you can take to prevent it.

As a cardio-thoracic ICU nurse, a healthy heart is of utmost importance to me. I've seen first hand the damage that things like high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, and diabetes can do to your body, and it's not good. I've seen my share of women and men, young and old....undergo open heart surgery. Heart disease can happen to anyone. If you're interested, the Go Red site has some great tips on prevention. So in honor of Friday & the weekend,  I'm linking up with my friend {av} from {longdistanceloving} for her weekly Friday Fancies party and of course, incorporating a little red.

I am by no means a fashionista, but I had a lot of fun putting this little ensemble together. The idea is to think up an outfit...of any kind. Money is no option, so the possibilities are endless :) It's actually kinda therapeutic and I may now be slightly addicted to Polyvore.

On the agenda for tonight? A sushi date with the husband. It's been one of those weeks where our schedules are complete opposite, so I've been looking forward to tonight since...oh, about Tuesday when we made plans. And I've been craving sushi since then as well. This outfit would be perfect for our date tonight and pretty much suits my style. I love the ruffles, the skinny black pants, flats, and the little bits of sparkle!

Remember how I said I loved online shopping? Yes? Well, it is dangerous. Especially when you're on a strict no-spending-money-on-yourself need-to-buy-furniture-for-new-house-will-have-mortgage diet. Anyway, some cute things I came across...didn't buy though, honey.
